- My Civil War reenacting started I believe in 1995 or 1996 when I joined the National Civil War Association (NCWA), located in California. I also became a member of the American Civil War Association (ACWA), also located in California. I knew I wanted to be a soldier, just did not know whether to be on the Union or Confederate. So I flipped a coin and choose the 5th Texas Brigade. I believe I stayed with them for a few years and then "saw the light" and joined the 1st United States Sharpshooters Company C. I have traveled up and down the West Coast as well as here on the East Coast. This blog will be about my time as a reenactor and my goals for seeing the sites out here in North Carolina and beyond.
